Emre Önyurt is the Vice Chairman of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey. One of his main responsibilities is to coordinate actions that are stated in the National Financial Education Strategy and Action Plan.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Economics, he moved to the U.S. and enrolled in graduate school at Syracuse University. He earned his M.S. degree in Information Management in 2007. He later worked in Political Campaign Management and Information Technologies in upstate New York.
Emre moved back to Turkey in 2010 and started to work at the Capital Markets Board. Since his background consists of Economics and Information Technologies, he believes that integrating technology into financial education is a crucial step to promote widespread financial literacy.
